AWS Directory Service
Managed Microsoft Active Directory in the AWS Cloud is built on actual Microsoft AD and does not require you to synchronize or replicate data from your existing on-premise Active Directory to the cloud. You can use the standard AD administration tools and take advantage of the built-in AD features, such as Group Policy and single sign-on. With AWS Managed Microsoft AD, you can easily join Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS for SQL Server instances to your domain, and use AWS End User Computing (EUC) services, such as Amazon WorkSpaces, with AD users and groups. The AWS directory service is automatically deployed in multiple availability zones.
Amazon RDS for SQL Server
SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. Amazon RDS for SQL Server is a PaaS service that makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. With Amazon RDS, you can deploy multiple editions of SQL Server (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019) including Express, Web, Standard and Enterprise, in minutes with cost-efficient and re-sizable compute capacity. It also offers single availability zone and multiple availability zone deployment options. Amazon RDS is a managed service that frees you up to focus on application development by managing time-consuming database administration tasks including provisioning, backups, software patching, monitoring, and hardware scaling.
AWS FSx for Windows File Server
Amazon FSx for Windows File Server provides managed, highly reliable, and scalable file storage that is accessible over the industry-standard Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. It is built on Windows Server, delivering a wide range of administrative features such as user quotas, end-user file restore, and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) integration. It offers single availability zone and multiple availability zone deployment options, fully managed backups, and encryption of data at rest and in transit. You can optimize cost and performance for your workload needs with SSD and HDD storage options; and you can scale storage and change the throughput performance of your file system at any time.
